An increasing number of central banks consider the inflation targeting regime as their monetary policy. The paper illustrates the experience of developed and developing countries using inflation targeting and systematizes information on the countries with the inflation targeting regime. Special attention is paid to SWOT-analysis of the inflation targeting regime. Today, the regime has favorable conditions for implementation in the context of Russian reality. As part of transition to a targeting course Russia should be based on international experience.
