Gold reserves are an important component of currency-financial segment of financial resources of the country. They are represented as high liquid assets that act as a guarantee of the discharge of foreign obligations by Russia. The bigger is the amount of gold and foreign currency reserves, the more reliable is the country for foreign investors and creditors. The authors of the article evaluate the Russian practice of making gold and foreign currency reserves and suggest the methods of its improvement.

The article analyses the key issues connected with statistic evaluation of conversion in developing social infrastructure among the municipal regions of Privolzhsky federal district. The authors analyze the models of growth-initial level regressions on 9 indices for the years 2003-2007. As a result the conclusion is made about the presence of disproportion on sub regional level in all regions of the district.

This work deals with the analysis of the most frequent economic cycles in literature. The cycleisolation methodology on the basis of Fourier transform and spectrum analysis is suggested and represented as an algorithm that includes Levinson-Durbin iterative method for optimal power spectral density calculation. As an example short-and long-term cyclic components are isolated in "Lukoil" stock quotes movement.
