SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES TO STIMULATE THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION (Using the example of the Republic of Dagestan)
The article analyzes the current situation of the social and economic development of the Republic of Dagestan, on the basis of which it identifies key advantages and restraints. Using a comparative analysis of the social and economic activity of the republic, the authors study the dynamics of the population (its economically active share), its earnings performance, which allows evaluating the development level and identifying the main problems of the region. The authors suggest the establishment and effective functioning of special economic zones on the territory of the republic as the most priority instrument to overcome existing discrepancies between the potential of the region and the lack of its social and economic development.
