SUSTAINABLE IMPORT SUBSTITUTION AS IMPERATIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW MODEL OF THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY
The article illustrates the necessity to implement the management policy of import substitution in the framework of a new model of the Russian economy. The authors represent the comparative analysis results of foreign trade scale in Russia and leading countries. The authors analyze the structure of exports and imports over the period 2000 to 2014 based on the "pyramid of priority." Special attention is paid to the authors` interpretation of the concept of "rational import substitution", and to the rationalization of import substitution. The paper presents the review of the literature regarding the revealed topic, systematic approaches to the import arrangements, and the implementation criteria of import substitution policy.
