INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF THE REGION INVOLVING CLUSTER INITIATIVES
The cluster approach offers an alternative form of institutional-functional organization of the region`s economy. This region`s economy is based on continuous, self-generating industry interaction and individual economic agents, where the nature and the relationships between them are crucial in the analysis of the regional economy. The article illustrates the issues of improving the competitiveness of petrochemical enterprises, modernization and development of oil-producing and oil-refining industries with cluster initiatives, and the issues of the cluster mechanisms development in the economy of the Samara region on the basis of the petrochemical cluster and the ways of their solutions.
