GDP AS A MEASURE OF NATIONAL WELL-BEING AND THE NATIONAL ECONOMY
The paper considers the applicability of the economic indicator "national income", created by the National Office of the United States, and economic parameters of "gross domestic product", "gross national product", developed on its basis by the UN commission, as the characteristics of the national welfare and the national economy. It is shown that these parameters can not characterize the welfare of the nation, and their applicability to assess the economies has a number of limitations. The paper analyses the problem of accounting export component using GDP as a main macroeconomic indicator of the Russian Federation.
