THE INDEX OF ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER INDICES OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The article illustrates the concepts of Ecological Footprint (how many resources cab be given by the land, preserving its natural resources, and how many resources we really take away for our needs) as a measure of the contemporary impact on the socio-ecological-economic systems. Special attention is paid to comparison of this index with other indices of sustainable development - the development index of human potential, life expectancy, and so on.
