SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OF THE TRANSPORT SYSTEM OF THE REGION IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY (ILLUSTRATED BY SAMARA REGION)
The role of transport system in sustainable economic development of the area is pointed out. The socio-economic functions of the transport system are defined. The transport system is presented as a territorial institution. Its role in solution of socio-economic territorial problems, population mobility increase, regional competitiveness intensification in the global economy is demonstrated.
