The article is devoted to the review of the market of mergers and acquisitions in the bank sector. Principal causes of consolidation of activities in banking sector are reflected, the prospects of consolidation in Russia in the intermediate term period are considered, and also features of the Russian consolidation in bank sector are allocated.
