OLD RUSSIAN PEOPLE UNDER THE WEST-CHRISTIAN TRIBES VIEW (IX – XI)

In this article the early period of forming of interethnic and ideological relations of Christian area of west European countries and Slavic tribes area and after that the state of Kievan Russia of IX-XI centuries is examined.
The epoch of early middle ages is key and in many ways decisive in relations between two regions as an epoch of “selection of faith” & defining Russia in the frames of medieval confessional -geopolitical system. Military, political & cultural activity of Kievan Russia during this period inevitably caused socio-cultural attitude towards Russia in such aspects as estimation of her military power, government system, persons of it’s governors, confessional belonging, traditions, customs,& spiritual qualities of “new people” coming from “barbarism” to Christianity. Appeared in the early medieval period, these socio-cultural attitudes produced a stable image of the country & the people, which was important even for the later period.
