Minat V.N.

The features of the spatial dynamics of the development of American healthcare in the long term are revealed. Based on the use of statistical and economic analysis undertaken within the framework of a combination of historical, geospatial and typological approaches, the dynamics of the average annual indicators of the development of US healthcare for 1951-2020 in the context of individual states is studied. Grouping of indicators allowed to identify the relationship between the growth of efficiency, quality, safety, accessibility and effectiveness of US healthcare at the regional level. On the basis of this dependence, a typology of states is carried out, which generally corresponds to the central-peripheral concept of the dynamics of socio-economic development of the United States. Keywords: US healthcare, spatial dynamics of healthcare development, healthcare efficiency, quality and accessibility of medical services, healthcare effectiveness. Highlights: ♦ as part of the development of the methodological base of the study, the grouping of indicators of the average annual growth of efficiency, quality, safety, accessibility and effectiveness of the development of US healthcare in the context of specific states was carried out; ♦ the typology of the US states is carried out according to the combination of the main characteristics of the development of healthcare in 1951-2020, determined by various groups of indicators; ♦ the features of the spatial dynamics (at the levels of states and sub-regions of the country) of the development of US healthcare in the average annual growth rates for the studied period of time are revealed.
