THE EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS INFECTION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONIC COMMERCE

The article examines the factors that influenced the development of e-commerce ( electronic commerce), considers the features and advantages of electronic commerce in modern market conditions. Special attention is paid to the development of e-commerce during the spread of coronavirus infection: the dynamics of opening and closing online stores during the pandemic are presented, and the most popular and filled niches in e-commerce are studied. Highlights: ♦ the current definition of e-commerce and advantages for the manufacturer and consumer are presented; ♦ the analysis of statistical data on sales volumes of online retailers during the spread of coronavirus infection was carried out; ♦ the dynamics of the e-commerce market for 2019-2020 and during the quarantine period are studied.
