PRICE INDEX DISCRIMINATION AND MARKET-DOMINANT FIRMS IN THE MARKET OF ENERGY COMMODITIES

Smirnova O.O.

The paper represents approaches to define indicators of price discrimination on the basis of analyzing the behavior of the dominant firm in the markets of energy commodities. It is proved that indicators, that determine price discrimination, should consider the possibility of establishing "price corridor" for different consumer groups, as well as different prices in a seasonally changing elasticity of demand. Keywords: price discrimination, the dominant firm, markets of energy commodities, demand elasticity, nonlinear pricing.
